In Greek mythology, Gemini is linked to Castor and Pollux, twin sons of Zeus and Leda. Castor, mortal, and Pollux, immortal, shared legendary bravery and loyalty, fighting side by side in numerous adventures. When Castor was mortally wounded, Pollux pleaded with Zeus to keep them together. Zeus immortalized them as the constellation Gemini.
